In this episode, we discuss two recent elections: the general elections in the United States and New Zealand. First, we speak with Matthew N. Lyons, a scholar of the US far right and activist from the blog Three Way Fight on the relationship between various far right extremist groups and the capitalist state in the US.. We also hear from Enzo and Sara from the anti-state communist collective, Unity and Struggle on how to resist right-wing violence and state-based coup attempts.

Finally we present an interview conducted by Australia’s Green Left Radio with Ani White, an activist from FightBack Aotearoa, reproduced here with permission. Ani explains why the recent landmark victory of New Zealand’s Labour Party under the leadership of Jacinda Ardern in the parliamentary general elections is a victory for a centrist status quo.
